Gemma O’Brien

I joined the firm in 2021 straight from Swansea University whereby I completed my Law Degree and Legal Practice Course.

Whilst initially employed as a Conveyancing Legal Assistant, I secured a Training Contract with RedKite in October 2022 whereby I trained in various seats, including Residential Conveyancing, Dispute Resolution, Employment Law and Corporate & Commercial Law. I was fortunate enough to be sent on a six-month Secondment to Milford Haven Port Authority as part of my Corporate & Commercial seat whereby I provided in-house legal assistance before practising in Employment Law in January 2025.

Throughout my time in Employment, I have worked on a variety of Employment matters, to list a handful – guiding Employers through the Disciplinary and Capability procedures, drafting Contracts of Employments, and updating Company Handbooks and policies in light of Employment Law Updates. In addition, I have also advised Employee’s through the appeal process against disciplinary action, and have a particular interest in advising on the terms of Settlement Agreements to ensure employees interests are best catered for. I am very much looking forward to expanding my workload now that I am back in the Employment team.

I’m a highly motivated and hard-working individual and love to learn. I understand that clients reach out to us during times when they are most in need, and I like to think that I engage with clients in both a general and professional capacity and endeavour to support clients in every way possible. I am very passionate about what I do for a living and do my utmost to provide clients with the best service from the receiving the initial instructions to the completion of a matter.

I have a huge love for animals and loves to travel with her Partner – New York City and Florida are my favourite holiday destinations to date! During my spare time, I love to keep fit by going to my local gym and spending time with my family and friends; whether that’s a social night out or a parkrun followed by a well-deserved calorific breakfast. I will be running my third half-marathon this year and hope to complete a marathon at some point in the future.
